Gamification Lessons from Candy Crush Saga!

In most companies, the Manufacturing shopfloor is not a pleasant place to be in. They are very Hot (Furnaces / Ovens, etc.) Noisy, Low Lighting, Oil spillage in the floor, etc.

It is very normal to get demotivated after a few months/years. In this situation, how can the employees come up new ideas for the suggestion scheme you have recently initiated?

Their involvement in any new initiative would be low and there will be a big resistant to change. Even if implemented, Sustenance would be difficult.

How to implement New Initiatives (including Lean Mfg / 5S / TPM / etc.) and make them sustain?

We are learning about Gamification and updating our Lean Implementation methodology to include the gamification tools / concepts.

Some of the questions we ask ourselves are:
1. How to involve the shopfloor employees in a better way to produce business results as well as transform their workplace that energises / motivates them to come to work everyday?

2. How to bring these gamification tools in day-to-day work that reduces followups, less fire-fighting and brings involvement from all levels

3. How to design the program in such a way that the company sustains the initiatives for a long term? (without involvement from the consultant)

Please go through some of the tools used by Candy Crush Saga (a popular mobile game).

Share your thoughts on how to bring some of these tools to the manufacturing shopfloor.
